On Friday September 29, the Law School, Babcock Graduate School of Management and the Wake Forest University School of Medicine will host a biotechnology/ethics symposium entitled "Biotechnology Research: Innovation, Funding and Ethics." The two-session event will be held in Pugh Auditorium, Benson University Center, and will focus on issues concerning the interface of law, business and medicine. The program will be led by world class authorities on biotechnology and ethics, such as Steve Burrill, CEO, Burrill and Company; Arthur Caplan, Director, Center for Bioethics, University of Pennsylvania and Cliff Leaf, Executive Editor, Fortune Magazine. The featured speaker is Arthur Caplan, Ph.D., Chair of the Department of Medical Ethics and the Director of the Center for Bioethics at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Dr. Caplan was named one of the ten most influential people in biotechnology and bioethics the the National Journal.
