Wake Forest University’s JD/MBA Joint Degree Society will present “A Real Perspective” on Thursday, April 9, at 4 p.m. in the Worrell Professional Center, Room 1312.
Three alumni – Stephen Berlin, Laurie Wilks and Charlie Trefzger — will discuss their career successes and describe how they got to where they are now. There will be small group sessions following the large group discussions. Students will have the chance to talk one on one to the alumni about networking and other topics, said Will Richards, event organizer.
Berlin is a managing partner at Kilpatrick Stockton’s Winston-Salem law office. He was named a 2008 “super” lawyer in environmental/land use and among 2007’s America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. A past president of the Forsyth County Bar Association, Berlin graduated cum laude with his JD from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1984.
Wilks is the former executive vice president of the Charlotte Motor Speedway. She was named the 2007 Business Woman of the Year and is on the board of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce. A member of the May 20th Society, Wilks graduated from Wake Forest with her JD in 1993.
Trefzger is the chief executive officer and owner of Agemark LTC. A member of the North Carolina Bar Association, he is an expert in financing and elder care facilities. Trefzger, who like Berlin graduated from Wake Forest with his JD in 1984, is also a member of the University’s Board of Visitors.
