Professor Carol Turowski, co-director of the law school’s Innocence and Justice Clinic, will speak at the Ohio Innocence Project’s first-ever conference dedicated to cases of wrongful conviction at the international level, called the 2011 National Innocence Network Conference.
Based out of the University of Cincinnati College of Law, the Project’s conference will take place at the Cincinnati Freedom Center on April 7–10.
“It isa privilege and honor to be asked to appear on a panel and conduct a roundtable discussion with fellow wrongful conviction advocates from 60 programs, including 15 from outside the U.S.,” Turowski said.
The conference will bring together selected lawyers, scholars and exonerees from around the world in hope that a greater international human rights movement will begin to form. Delegates from 18 different countries will each speak about the problem of wrongful conviction in their respective home nations.
