Kala C. Taylor has been named Associate Director of Career Services at Wake Forest University School of Law.
Taylor joined the Office of Career Services about three years ago as assistant director, leaving her position as an attorney with a local firm.
Taylor received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from Wake Forest University in 2001. She also received her J.D. and a bachelor’s degree in Civil Law from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center. Taylor previously practiced in real estate law and debtor/creditor law. Although she no longer practices, she is an active member of the North Carolina Bar, enjoys studying various areas of law and is a part-time instructor in the paralegal department of Forsyth Technical Community College.
“Her contemporary understanding of the job search process, her connections within the legal community, her drive and her warm personality have made her a valuable asset to our students and to the Career Services team,” said Ann Gibbs, associate dean of Administrative and Student Services. “We look forward to her continued leadership in this key student services office.”
In her new role, Taylor will counsel students as they search for a summer job or post-law school career. She will help design career plans, assist with the on-campus interview program, make contacts with law offices in job development, and work with students to ensure they reach their career goals. Additional duties will include the management of career educational programming and the coordination of several off-campus interview programs across the country.
In her spare time, Taylor enjoys life with her husband and two children.
The Office of Career Services is dedicated to working with students, alumni and employers to facilitate the career and professional development, job search and recruitment process.
