The Wake Forest University School of Law’s Veterans Advocacy Law Organization (VALOR) will host a free legal clinic for veterans on Friday, Feb. 3.
Members of the student veterans group plan to provide wills, power of attorney documents and legal information regarding landlord tenant issues, among others. The United Way will also have a representative available with information about housing for homeless veterans.
Veterans will meet the students at the WFU Indoor Tennis Center for registration and coffee at 10 a.m. From there shuttles will take them to the Worrell Professional Center, where the law school is located, to participate in the clinic. Following the clinic, the veterans will be taken back to the tennis center where lunch will be served and they will have the opportunity to watch an indoor tennis match between Wake Forest and Virginia Commonwealth University at 2 p.m. Prior to the match, there will be a presentation by Gen. Gil Beck to honor a wounded veteran. Veterans are free to leave at any time.
The Tennis Center is located behind the Wake Forest BB&T football stadium at 32nd Street and Shorefair Drive in Winston-Salem. Parking is free.
