Professor Kate Mewhinney spoke on “Long Term Insurance” at the North Carolina Bar Association’s Elder Law Section CLE last Friday, Oct. 26, at the North Carolina Bar Foundation Center in Cary, North Carolina.
The Elder Law Section, currently comprised of 558 members, focuses on issues related to the elderly population of North Carolina, specifically Medicare and Medicaid. In addition, it sponsors CLE programs and services, provides members with Elder Law newsletter and aids in determining the association’s legislative agenda for presentation to the N.C. General Assembly.
Mewhinney is currently serving as the managing attorney of The Elder Law Clinic, where she supervises upper level law students in representing actual clients in civil matters. She is Certified as an Elder Law Attorney by both the National Elder Law Foundation and the N.C. State Bar Board of Legal Specialization.
