On Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, Eleanor Trefzger (’10) and her teammates on the Fort Bragg Women’s Team became the recipients of the Commander’s Cup for winning this year’s Army Ten-Miler Race. The Army Ten-Miler is the second largest 10-mile race in the world, hosting more thank 35,000 participants each year.
Trefzger and the rest of the Fort Bragg Women’s Team received the trophy from General Raymond T. Odierno, Chief of Staff of the United States Army.
The Army-Ten Miler is held annually every October in Washington, D.C., and is sponsored by the U.S. Army Military District of Washington. The race is increasingly popular and typically participant registration reaches capacity within hours of registration opening. Other events in the race weekend include a Wounded Warrior & Wheelchair athlete race, a youth run and an activity fair.
