“Know Your Rights!” panel discussion about constitutional rights when interacting with police to be held on Thursday, Nov. 13

“Know Your Rights!” is a panel discussion and question and answer session with three local attorneys on the topic of constitutional rights when interacting with police. The event will be held on Thursday, Nov. 13 from 5 – 7:00 p.m. in Room 1312 of the Worrell Professional Center.  Open to all students, the event is hosted by The Wake Forest Law Criminal Justice Program, American Constitution Society and Black Law Students Association. The panel will be moderated by Director of the Criminal Justice Program and Professor Kami Chavis Simmons.

The panelists include: Karonnie Truzy (’01), litigation attorney, Crumley Roberts; Fred Adams (’00), Law Offices of Frederick B. Adams, P.C.; and James McMinn, private criminal defense attorney.

This event is premised on the growing unrest concerning police brutality and the need for citizens to know their rights in these situations.
