Professor Kami Chavis, director of the law school’s Criminal Justice Program and associate dean for research and public engagement, was featured on the MSNBC Live segment titled, “Does video of Keith Scott bring new facts to light?” on Sept. 23, 2016.

In the segment, Professor Chavis discusses the the video of Keith Lamont Scott released by his family with MSNBC Live host Steve Kornacki.  She is joined by Jim Cavanaugh, MSNBC law enforcement analyst.  Click here to watch the segment.

Professor Chavis has been featured in a number of publications regarding Scott’s shooting and the consequential Charlotte protests, including Wall Street Journal, New York TimesMorning Star and American Constitution Society articles.

Previously, Professor Chavis has appeared on CNN, CTV and NPR.  She has written for the New York Times and the Huffington Post, and has articles in the American Criminial Law Review, the Ohio State Journal of Criminal Law, The Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology,  the University of Alabama Law Review and the Catholic University Law Review, among others.
