Professor Michael Green to lead discussion at European Group on Tort Law meeting Friday, Oct. 20

Professor Michael Green will attend a public meeting of the European Group on Tort Law on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at Universität Innsbruck in Austria. The conference is titled “Challenges of Tort Law Today” and Professor Green is to speak on the subject of “Challenges of Toxic Torts.”
Professor Green will discuss the challenges in terms of causation and the the need to embrace science, to the extent it exists, to solve topical questions.
Along with Professor Green’s discussion, the conference will also feature three other presenters. Topics will cover the current state of the French tort law reform, liability for new technologies, and the emerging practice of implementing the new Spanish baremo and center on how European tort law reform can better reflect the advancements of that in the United States.
Professor Green is a member and scholar of the European Group on Tort Law. According to its website, the group meets regularly to discuss fundamental issues of tort law liability as well as recent developments and the future directions of the law of tort.
