Bidding for annual online PILO auction starts Monday, Feb. 12; live auction set for Thursday, Feb. 22

The Public Interest Law Organization (PILO) will host its biggest annual fundraiser — the PILO Auction — beginning online Monday, Feb. 12, followed by the live auction beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, in the Worrell Professional Center, Room 1312. Tickets for the live event are $10 and can be purchased at go.wfu.edu/dqx.

2017 PILO auctions raise record $20,000 for summer grants

The Public Interest Law Organization (PILO) raised a record $20,000 from its 2017 annual online and live auctions, which are held to raise money to provide grants for students with unpaid public interest internships during the summer.

“The PILO Executive Board is proud to announce that with your support we surpassed our fundraising goal for the 2017 auction by raising just over $20,000,” PILO President Stephanie Jackson(JD ’17) announced in an email to the law school. “These proceeds will be used to fund unpaid summer public interest internships for Wake Forest Law students through Professor Hopkins Pro Humanitate Grants.”

The online auction was held from Feb. 1-8 and the live auction on Feb. 9 in the Worrell Professional Center. It was open to Wake Forest Law students, faculty, staff and alumni, with Professor Steve Virgil serving as Master of Ceremonies. The professional auctioneer donated his services, the organizers said.

Bidding for online PILO annual auction continues through Feb. 8, live auction set for Feb. 9

The Public Interest Law Organization (PILO) will host it’s biggest annual fundraiser — the PILO Auction — beginning online on Feb. 1-8 with the live auction following beginning  at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9, in the Worrell Professional Center, Room 1312. You can bid on items including a weekend at Dean Suzanne Reynolds (JD ’77) mountain cabin on the New River, airplane rides and dinners with faculty and hand-painted watercolors.

First online PILO auction helps boost total donations to a record $18,000

The 2015 annual Public Interest Law Organization (PILO) Auction was a record-breaking success, raising more than $18,000, according to organizers. This year additionally marks the first time that the PILO Auction was accompanied by an online venue, which was open from Thursday, Jan. 29, to Wednesday, Feb. 4. The live auction was held on Thursday, Feb. 5, in the Worrell Professional Center.

Annual PILO Charity Auction rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 20

A weekend at a cabin on the New River. High tea at the O’Henry Hotel with Professor Rebecca Morrow. Original watercolor paintings by Professor George Walker. A weeklong stay in Key West, Fla. These are among the offerings up for bid at the Wake Forest Law annual Public Interest Law Organization (PILO) Auction at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, in the Worrell Professional Center, Room 1312.  The event, which was originally scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 13, will include food, drinks, games and prizes.
